It's probably closely related to #2.

Both used it on the farm Eitrheim, just outside of Odda. Jakob doesn't know anything about before then. Reidar, who gave the yeast to me, is Jakob's grandson.

He knows for certain that his great-grandfather used it. It's probably been mixed with other yeasts. He knows for certain that this happened in the 1950s. That yeast came from Straumsdalen in nearby Skodje.

Vestrheim brews together with Tor Ølver Helland, who lived in Granvin in the 1980s. Helland got the yeast from his father-in-law Hans Haugse in the mid-80s, and has kept it alive since. Hans Haugse says he got the kveik from a man named Arnøy in Dyrvedalen in Voss. Arnøy is long since dead, but other sources remember him as Johan Arnøy. The kveik probably shares an origin with #2.

People in Dyrvedalen have been sharing the yeast freely with each other, so the people there consider that the valley has a single kveik.

Provenance: The people from the farm of Gjernes, Sigmund among them, used kveik from Brynjulv Gjernes. When Sigmund moved to his own farm he mixed it with kveik from a neighbour, Kåre Hovda. Hovda had his kveik from Bordalen. The people at Gjernes used to get kveik from Veka in Dyrvedalen.

  16. Nie, nie łatwiej zdobyć gęstwę. Chodzi o to, że przy Kveikach, które chodzą od drzwi do drzwi, czasami może zdarzyć się zakażenie. Jeśli kveik nie ma swoich oryginalnych bakterii, to łatwiej i pewniej zrobić starter z antybiotykiem niż bawić się w zdobywanie kveika którego już się ma. Oczywiście jeśli ma się podejrzenie zakażenia kveika który miał swoje bakterie, to nie ma co się bawić i trzeba koniecznie nową gęstwę zdobyć, dlatego tak ważne jest dzielenie się swoimi kveikami - raz ja dam tobie raz ty dasz mi
  17. Jeśli bakterie są w gęstwie, to nic nie da gotowanie brzeczki w kolbie, trzeba antybiotyk. Można dać jedną tabletkę, ale chciałbym wiedzieć ile minimalnie można dać by był efekt, by nie strzelać z armaty do wróbla. @DanielN orientujesz się coś w temacie dawkowania drożdży do startera, może coś podpowiesz choć na czuja?
  18. Ktoś mi kiedyś opisywał, jak zrobić starter z dodatkiem antybiotyku, żeby ubić ewentualne bakterie, ale szukam, szukam i nie mogę znaleźć. Jeśli ktoś robił starter z antybiotykiem, bardzo proszę o podanie dawkowania.

  21. Źle to rozumiesz Jeśli masz oryginalny kveik, znaczy taki, przekazywany z pokolenia na pokolenie przez dziesiątki lat, wtedy masz w tabeli czy zbiera się go z dołu czy z góry. Bo nie każdy kveik ma być zbierany z góry. No i wtedy jak masz konkretny szczep i chcesz mieć powtarzalność tak jak jego właściciel, to zbierasz tak jak on. Jak będziesz zbierał inaczej, to piwo wyjdzie inne, zapewne gorsze, bo jakieś powody są że zbiera się tak a nie inaczej. Ale jak masz szczep komercyjny, to bladego pojęcia nie masz, co to jest, do czego dążysz, a o tym że są tam ewentualne oryginalne bakterie to możesz zapomnieć. Więc nie ma powodu by szarpać się i zbierać z góry, oczywiście można, ale nie trzeba!
  22. Z góry zbiera się oryginalne kveiki, które są często mieszanką kilku gatunków drożdży i do tego bakterii. Zbiera się z góry by zachować powtarzalność. Wydaje mi się, że tu nie ma konieczności z góry, oczywiście tak zbierane drożdże są zdrowsze, spokojnie gęstwa da radę.

Edit 19.06.2020: Wariant A: na cichą poszło 20 g suszonych kwiatów czarnego bzu i 20 g świeżych liści Geranium. Butelkowanie wariantu B - herbatka: 100 g cukru, 7 g mięty i 17 g kwiatów czarnego bzu. Napar wykonany dzień wcześniej i schłodzony. Troszkę naparu nie zostało wlane, bo było dużo pyłków na dnie. Zeszło w obu przypadkach do około 4,5 BLG
